The advantage with Germanic peoples is that they are predictable. Their tribal culture prevents them from thinking globally. They micro-manage everything, all the time. The USA is a good example of this.
Bitumen/Asphalt. The glue for roads and roofs. Geologically concentrated. Venezuela's Orinoco Belt is the gold standard. China's endless infrastructure buildout is chemically addicted to it.
THE VENEZUELA GAMBIT
Approximately 56% of China's asphalt binder likely originates from Venezuela.
The US now possesses a vertically integrated, efficient loop for the world's most critical industrial molecules.
This is what I was explaining : the Germanic mindset is not subtle, meaning it is not innovative. The German dislikes problems, hence their compulsive control behavior. Hence the constant vertical needs.
Heavy crude from Venezuela yields an asphalt output of around 60%, compared to 15-30% for Iranian or Russian oil. This is why Iran is target number two coming next. It is the perfect binder for highways and airport runways.
China builds incessantly. It consumes around 80000 tonnes of asphalt binder per day. Estimates from “shadow” fleets indicate that Venezuela was supplying approximately 0.5 million barrels per day of this heavy crude to China. This covered about 56% of its needs for quality asphalt. Without it, Chinese roads (already of variable quality) would become more fragile and deteriorate faster.
Clearly, the Chinese, who them are a civilization and possess all the characteristics of one, will find a solution.
I have always said: the future of the West does not lie with the Anglo-Saxons, due to their lack of a global view of problems; they do not have, and cannot create, a civilization because they are tribes.
